Cassandra Grae's artistic practice fluctuates between a variety of mediums and subjects, but is anchored in rendering the human form. She enjoys using strategic coloring and cropping to abstract otherwise realistic figures. Her love of dance and movement is certainly an undercurrent of her work.
Cassandra is an artist and educator currently residing in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. She was born in Tucson, Arizona, acquired her BFA in Art Education from Arizona State University, and her Masters in Arts Administration from Baruch College. She is proud to be in her 10th year living in New York and in her 8th year teaching Digital Art to seventh and eighth grade students at a large public middle school. She tries to strike a balance between her role as educator and her personal artistry and is excited to have recently began publicly showing and selling her pieces.
